Derek’s Review: Ready or Not

A wedding day should be magical, filled with hope and love. Or, it can be filled with insanity, blood and murder! You’ll really have to work with a Wedding Planner to get the desired outcome.

Grace (Samara Weaving) is a young bride marrying the man of her dreams. Once and orphan, she now has a chance to find new family and create the life she’s always wanted. Alex (Mark O’Brien) is the groom, a loving man that’s being holding a terrible secret close. His family, the Le Domas clan, is rich and powerful with ties to some of the favorite fan events and games that have built this country. And that, is where tradition kicks in. More than something bored and something blue, this bride must draw a card and play a game. Tradition brings about a tale that bring family closer or cuts them free. Hide and Seek may be the name, but Survival is the game.

Pleasantly surprised with this film, it falls in the category of “What you expect and want”. Yes it is bloody and violent, but its also fun and bombastic. The motivations and human nature of the film make each step a question and fun answer. If you watch the trailer, you’ll know what to expect when it comes to story. The added bonus is that it delivers that and more!
