This reality competition is like no other. Eleven strangers arrive at Camp Pleasant, thinking they will be involved in a typical summer camp reality show.
Once the show starts, they are met with a horrifying discovery. The competitors learn that they are actually apart of a whodunnit reality show called ‘Killer Camp.’
The campers play games to earn cash, as they try to figure out who is the killer amongst them. Each night that the killer is not found, a contestant meets their demise. If no one can solve this mystery by the end of the competition, then the killer wins the cash. So when everyone is a suspect, can they find the killer before it’s too late?
Killer Camp is very Big Brother meets an eighties slasher movie. The camp handyman Bruce will give you Jason Voorhees vibes.
As far as reality tv goes, it’s not a terrible concept, and the execution is interesting. The first episode is all set up, with a cheesy payoff. And while the ‘murders’ may be silly, they are entertaining.
This slasher show doesn’t poke fun at horror films, but kind of celebrates them. It’s over the top and ‘campy’ to say the least, but you will have fun watching it. This outdoor competition is entertaining while stuck inside during the summer. If you’re a fan of killer comedies and reality TV, this may be a perfect hybrid for you.
If you dare to watch Killer Camp it airs Thursdays on The CW
