Review: Zombieland Double Tap

After a long ten year wait from the first “Zombieland”, Director Ruben Fleischer hits us with Zombieland: Double Tap. The big question is did “Double Tap” live up to it’s witty, gory & very well put together prequel.

Double Tap definitely keeps the same humorous energy while continuing to compliment the very different personalities/outlooks on post apocalyptic experiences of the main Characters, Tallahassee, Columbus, Wichita and Little Rock.

Some new Characters such as Zoey Deutch playing Madison, Rosario Dawson playing Nevada, Luke Wilson playing Albuquerque and Thomas Middleditch playing Flagstaff make their debut in the film bringing a refreshing and new atmosphere which is needed due to the lack of character development.

While the first film focuses more on zombie slaying, the second surely lacks it as its main focus is Columbus and Wichita’s failed relationship along with the main characters journey on finding Little Rock and rescuing her from her oblivious anti-violence love interest who she runs away with in order to fulfill her nonexistent teenage love life she so very craves.

The comical and fun storyline will surely distract you from the disappointment of the lack of gore and zombie screen time.
